Hi, Everyone and welcome to my site!

My name is Tony Perona, and I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember, way back to tortured poetry composed as a teenager, to some musicals I co-wrote in graduate school, to advertising and public relations materials I wrote as a p.r. guy, and columns and stories I’ve written for newspapers and magazines. I became a published author in December, 2002, when Five Star published my first novel, Second Advent, the first in the Nick Bertetto mystery series. On the website you’ll find out more about me personally, about books and appearances and the latest news. I also have a blog, and you’ll find a variety of topics there. For those who like recipes, I occasionally blog about that. Nick, my series character, is a stay-at-home dad, and since I’ve also been a stay-at-home dad, we share the experience of cooking a lot for our families. Sometimes I’ll do recipes from the books, of things that Nick reports he’s cooking. (Not that my books are culinary mysteries–they’re not, and don’t include recipes–but in the course of a book Nick will be in the kitchen several times, because he has to take care of his family in addition to solving mysteries.) Other times the recipes will be things I’ve made for my kids over the years. I’m going to try doing one or two of them as a video blog, so we’ll see how that goes.
