Hi, Everyone and welcome to my site!

My name is Tony Perona, and I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember, way back to tortured poetry composed as a teenager, to some musicals I co-wrote in graduate school, to advertising and public relations materials I wrote as a p.r. guy, and columns and stories I’ve written for newspapers and magazines. I became a published mystery author in December, 2002, when Five Star published my first novel, Second Advent, the first in the Nick Bertetto mystery series. You can find out more about that series by clicking on the Novels & Books button. Other buttons will allow you to find out more about me personally, about books and appearances and the latest news.

New Info:

  • Appearances page updated (8/26)! Especially note the change in venue for my talk/signing on Saturday, October 28.  It’ll be at the Plainfield Public Library.
  • I reviewed Sam Reaves’ book Mean Town Blues.
  • The booksigning that was scheduled at Foul Play Bookstore on July 14th has been canceled.  Sorry, fans in the Columbus, Ohio area. I’ll try to schedule a signing at another time and place.
  • I was at the Printers Row Literary Festival on June 12 and 13, and I’ve got pictures from it!
  • I updated my Appearances page.
  • The winner of the contest associated with the 30-Day Adventure was Joy McQueen, who will have a character named after her in my next published novel.  Her library, which won $250 to spend on mysteries and signed, first-edition copies of my three Nick Bertetto mysteries, was the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library.  My visit to Greensburg to present the award is also documented in the blog section.
  • The book launch for Saintly Remains was held at the Barnes & Noble store in my current hometown of Plainfield, Indiana on April 9.  There was cake, balloons, and fun.  I have posted a blog about it as well.
  • Finally, I recently was the guest blogger at Mystery Lovers Kitchen, where I prepared Italian Sausage and Peppers.  That recipe is now presented in my recipe blog .  (Visit Mystery Lovers Kitchen, by the way, for some great recipes.  They have a regular group that blogs, one each day. )  For those of you who like recipes, I occasionally blog about food. Nick, my series character, is a stay-at-home dad, and since I’ve also been a stay-at-home dad, we share the experience of cooking a lot for our families.

Anyway, please look around the site, and if you want to contact me, please send me a comment.

Thanks for visiting!
